Should you take a break and stop looking for a job until January?

It is the holidays, after all, and there are fewer opportunities available.

So what’s the point?

Behind the scenes, companies still have problems to solve.

Companies slow down the number of new hires at the end of the year, typically because of financial reasons and not because of a lack of needs.

And exactly because everything slows down, there is a gap that is being created. There are fewer applicants.

Your job application will face less competition. In other words, you stand a better chance of landing the job.

Moreover, there is no better time to network and position yourself so that you’re at the top of the list when new jobs are posted.

What are your thoughts? Is it time to take a break and decrease the pace during the holiday season?
